The Impact, In Their Words
It's not about the knots you learn or the number of badges you earn. Guiding is about always being positive in life, adjusting & adapting to any situation that comes your way with a swing in your step & a song in your head. Guiding has shaped the person I am today. Unconsciously abiding by the 9 parts of the guide law in all aspects of my life from choosing a career to a life partner & to being a mother enhancing the values and principles that I so strongly believe
Guiding has evolved and transformed me into a completely new human being and it has helped me to serve society in a much better way
Girl Guiding gave me the confidence in my ability to survive, to go out into the world and act with conviction for what I believe in and 71st East Bombay ZBG gave me a family, people who uplift one another and move forward together. I am so grateful to have been part of this experience growing up
My experience as the 71st East Bombay Zoroastrian Bharat Guide Group is something that will resonate with me lifelong. It is a unique experience that instills fun learning, responsibility and social service at very young age. My Flock Leaders and Guiders have played a role in guiding me personally & helping me become confident, independent and responsible
Remembering my days as a bulbul, guide, ranger and now a guider brings joy and happiness. I have learnt to be helpful, confident, outspoken professionally and personally. I can truly say that I can figure out a lot of things in life with ease and an open mind and with a lot of patience. Guiding has taught me to be independent.
I have been a part of ZBG since I was 5 years old. Zoroastrian Guide Group has been an excellent group with very dedicated flock leaders and Guiders one can have to be a true guide. Guiding has helped me in all walks of life. It has nurtured me to become independent and strong along with an all-round development.
Our guiding journey has been a special one. The most important takeaway from the movement is the understanding of our role in making the world a better place. Combined with leadership qualities instilled in us from the first time we become sixers in Bulbuls, the 71st guides are trained to take the lead in service to the Parsi community and society as a whole. With guiders like Mrs. Mackie Majra (who actively participates in uplifting the underprivileged) and Mrs. Binaifer Kandawalla and Mrs. Jasmine Wadia who have a consistent encouraging spirit towards social service, we have ideal mentors inhouse
There are many intangible things Guiding has taught me, but above all it has taught me that anything done to the best of our ability always gives complete satisfaction & a pleasure of a job well done.
I started off as a young Bulbul and learnt so many things that my school-mates learnt only later in life. I could tell the time, sew proficiently and learnt how to multitask from a very young age! As a guide, with each test and proficiency badge, we learn a whole new skill-set in a fun hands-on way. Girl guiding is an extremely inclusive method of learning-by-doing. From navigating using an actual map, to cooking a whole meal from scratch, from packing efficiently to living frugally- guiding not only offers something for everyone but also develops a well-rounded personality.
A journey that began in 1993 has truly helped me in countless ways. It enriched my childhood by providing innumerable opportunities to learn, explore and grow
To achieve great heights is what we all aspire to do, and guiding is one forte that has helped me do the same from being a Golden Arrow Bulbul to a Rashtrapati Guide Gold Cord and receiving my Rashtrapati award from the President of India. I truly believe that I have not only achieved my dreams but I have stepped on a pedestal that very few would have got the opportunity.
Being a guide and a bulbul has helped me become a more independent individual and at the same time, it has also taught me how to work well in a team. Being a part of this group since a young age I have also had the privilege of participating in a number of activities like hiking and camping which school or college does not expose you to.
